The 9th annual Bondi to Bronte Ocean Swim is now one of the classics on the Sydney Ocean Swim calendar attracting swimmers from across Australia and the World. The swim takes a course between the first two Surf Life Saving Clubs in the world. Starting in front of the world famous Bondi Rescue Lifeguard tower at Bondi Beach, swimmers head south around McKenzie’s point and continue down the coast into Bronte Beach, a distance of 2.1 - 2.4km (depending on ocean conditions).

Starting and finishing at two different beaches is one of the unique aspects of this journey swim. It gives swimmers a real sense of achievement.

Ocean swimming training is offered during the lead up to the event in November. There are age group categories ranging from 12 year olds through to 65+, including the new flippers, fins, wetsuits and floaties group for those who want a little help around the course.

If you plan to spend your summer in Sydney, another classic on the Sydney Ocean Swim calendar is the Sydney Morning Herald Cole Classic at Manly Beach held in February which is one of Australia’s most popular ocean swims.
